ECONOMICS AT PIRAEUS UNIVERSITY
The Department of Economics at the University of Piraeus is one of the most dynamic and well-recognized economics departments in Greece. With 23 faculty members and a strong research profile, we actively contribute to the advancement of economic science and to the shaping of public and business policy.
Our mission is to provide high-quality education at all levels of study — from undergraduate to doctoral — fostering knowledge, skills, and critical thinking that prepare our students to meet the challenges of the modern labor market.

1st Piraeus International Economic Conference
The PIEC (Piraeus International Economic Conference) will be held for the first time in 2026, co-organised with the European Commission, and specifically the Joint Research Centre.
PIEC is a three-day international conference in the fields of Economics, Finance, and Econometrics. It serves as a meeting point for economists, researchers, and policy experts from around the world, offering a forum where theory meets policy, data informs development, and early-career researchers collaborate with experienced professionals.
